Yay new outfit post, woohoo!

As you all (should) know, I am absolutely obsessed with all things fall, especially the fashion. I recently did some shopping with my mom, who is my favorite person to shop with, and picked up some new pieces, including this sequin skirt and jacket. I knew when I bought this skirt, I wanted to dress it down with the jacket. Sequins are gorgeous and all, but they can sometimes be a bit much for day time so I paired it with this casual jacket, boots, and a larger, day time bag.

It was a beautiful day when we shot this so my bare legs could stand the weather but as the Central New York chilliness commences, I will probably pair this skirt with tights. Sparkles and sequins also remind me of the holidays so I thought the skirt was a perfect way to transition into that time of year.

I just wanted to take a moment and thank my wonderful best friend Annie Olczyk for putting up with all of my pickiness and taking these photos for me. U da bomb dot com.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Applefest!

Photography: Annie Olczyk

Hello, lovelies! Long time, no blog! Here's an outfit I wore to Applefest this past weekend. I wanted to be comfy because of the lots of walking, but wanted a little bit of flare with my oversized hat. I had to add something to stand out! ;)

I have also been crazy into bold lips this fall. It has definitely been my favorite accessory. This lipstick is Rebel by MAC.

Rainy Day in the Commons

I am fully aware of how basic I sound right now, but I am SO excited for autumn and the fashion that comes along with it!

This past weekend, I went to the Commons with my best friend to grab some breakfast and catch up. And as an act of true friendship, I made her take pictures of my outfit for me.

I went with a beige trench that used to belong to my mom that I am in love with. Sometimes, the best pieces come from your mother's closet, am I right?

I have been really into neutral pieces and adding a splash of color with accessories. I went with a basic white t-shirt from Old Navy and dark skinny jeans from INC. I bought a t-shirt that was one size too big so it was a bit more lose and could tuck into my jeans. Because of my dancer thighs and butt, I have found it extremely difficult to find a pair of jeans that fit in the waist and in the hips so these jeans were a godsend.

This day was my opportunity to wear my new boots that I got from Off Broadway Shoes for 75% off! Always check the clearance rack, people.

One of my favorite scarves of all time is this American Flag scarf from Free People. It was a great investment and a perfect way to add a little bit of color to my otherwise neutral look.

Finally, I have been dying to wear my Henri Bendel bag again as it is my new baby that I absolutely love. It adds a mature and classic accessory to the look, as well as texture.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

The High Line

Please excuse the lack of posts! (Insert busy interning excuse here) But, I am back for a quick outfit post!

One of my best friends visited me this past weekend so I took her to the High Line in Chelsea. I dressed pretty comfy as we walked all day.

I paired my new kimono (I am in love!) with a white tank top and slightly high waisted shorts. I bought these Wildfox shorts here at Century 21 for only $40 (Such a steal!) so naturally now I can't stop wearing them. I always find amazing deals at Century 21. In fact, I just found a pair of shorts that are available on the Wildfox website for $150 and the same pair of shorts at Century 21 for $30. Check them out! (http://www.c21stores.com/women_apparel_shorts/wildfox-light-wash-distressed-cutoff-shorts

Anyway, I've been really into classic looks and solid neutrals lately so I was excited to find this kimono at Marshalls that can go with just about anything. See, you CAN rock the kimono look even if you're not completely into the bohemian style.

I just wrote up a quick trend piece on kimonos on the Cynthia Rose Facebook page so check it out here: https://www.facebook.com/cynthiaroseny
P.S. Like us on Facebook!

Also, featured in this post is my new baby: the Henri Bendel Carlyle Satchel. A What's In My Bag/Handbag review will be posted soon!

Anyways, without further ado, here's the outfit:

First Outfit in New York!

Hello wonderful bloggers! I am so incredibly happy to be in New York this summer for an internship with Cynthia Rose. I'm falling in love with the city more and more every day and am continuing to be inspired by the fashion, style, and art all around me. I will post all about my experience later but for now, a quick outfit post!

I met up with a friend to do a little shopping so I made him take my picture in Central Park. If you ever are running out of ideas in your closet, try pairing tops over dresses. Cropped tops usually work best. It gives it a completely different look! And it was convenient since it is not warm summer weather here just yet. I paired the look with wedges, courtesy of my gorgeous roommate Jessica, and some Free People socks with lace.

I am so happy to be in New York and I promise to stop slacking on my posts!

Quick New York OOTD!

Hello, you lovely people!

I had the chance to go to my favorite city in the world this Saturday and I thought I would share a quick post on what I wore!

I wanted to be super comfy so I went with gray sneaker wedges and some dark wash skinny
jeans both from Macy's. These wedges were surprisingly very comfortable to walk in and my feet hurt very little by the end of the day; which was just due to fatigue. These sneaker wedges are all over New York so I fit right in!

I LOVE me some Wildfox! I am still in love with the Wildfox Couture sweater I received for Christmas and it was light enough to wear on this warm, sunny day! I tucked part of it into my jeans to give my midsection a bit of shape and put a blazer over it for additional warmth from the wind. I went with a black bandeu as well.

It was a very early morning so I just teased my crown a bit and threw my hair up into a ponytail. My hair was still curly from the night before so I used that to my advantage! I decided to dress up the ponytail with some statement earrings from Baublebar that I absolutely love. Messy ponytails and statement earrings are my new favorite combination. I paired the earrings with my silver Coach watch, silver bangle, and my favorite pearl ring. I wanted to keep the accessories rather minimal so I could be comfortable all day!

Because I didn't want to carry my heavy bag, I just packed my essentials into my Marc by Marc Jacobs crossbody. I am in love with the taupey/purple/mushroom color of this bag, it's unlike any bag I own. Unfortunately, I could not find this specific style bag in that color but there are plenty of other bags in that same gorgeous color! And finally, of course, because it was sunny, I had to wear my Marc by Marc Jacobs sunglasses as well.

I had lots of fun in New York, shopping and enjoying the views. What is your favorite thing to do in New York? Let me know in the comments below and I hope you all have a beautiful day!

OMIGOD, OMIGOD, you guys!

Bonus points if you caught that Legally Blonde the Musical reference.

But seriously though, this curling wand is better than getting into Harvard Law School.

Okay, maybe not.

So as established above, this curling wand rocks.

I first heard about the NuMe brand from Missglamorazzi or Ingrid on YouTube. (Love her!) She has mentioned several NuMe products throughout many of her videos. Ingrid specifically used the reverse wand in her "3 Quick & Easy Date Night Hairstyles" video (Link below) and I loved the type of curls it created. She offered a couple of NuMe coupon codes in one of her recent spring inspired videos which included the reverse wand for just $27.

That's right, scored this $169 curling wand for less than $35 with tax.

Just another reason why I love Ingrid. Last time I checked, you can still snag this wonderful product for that price using the coupon code "ILOVENUGGET" So, GO GO GO!

I received the NuMe Reverse 13mm-25mm Classic Curling Wand about three days after ordering it, which is, in my opinion, very fast.

The curling wand came neatly packaged in a box that slides out of this cover.

The wand comes with an instructional manual as well as a heat-resistant glove. I never use those types of gloves with any heat styling product, usually the material makes it more difficult to keep ahold of my hair. Though, I probably should have used it this time because I managed to burn my hand twice while using this wand for the first time. It had nothing to do with the wand, I am probably just out of practice since I haven't curled my hair in a while!

The wand comes in black, pink, and zebra. I decided to go with pink, because obvs. The wand starts smaller at the base and expands out to the tip, a reverse effect, clearly stated in the name. This curling wand is used to achieve a tighter curl towards the top of your hair that gradually gets loser towards the ends of your hair.

As I curled my hair, I just took 1-2 inch sections and wrapped them around the barrel. I held each section for less than 10 seconds because this wand gets very hot. It also heats up very quickly so it is great if you are in a hurry. You cannot change the temperature on this wand. However, that is a feature I never use anyway, so that did not bother me. The handle is very easy to grip as well.

I am not going to lie, at first, I did not notice a difference between this wand and my others. When winding your hair around the barrel, you really have to make sure you cover the entire barrel. It sounds obvious but, if you only wrap your hair around half of the barrel, you will not get that smaller to larger curl. This took a little bit of getting used to but it was not difficult.

After I finished curling, I flipped my head over a couple of times and loosened the top a little bit with my fingers. I then followed up by lightly brushing, concentrating on the ends to loosen them more than the top. It wasn't until I brushed my hair out that I really noticed the difference.

After playing with it a bit, my immediate reaction was, "Oh my gosh, my hair looks like Ingrid's!" Which of course, was just the reaction I was hoping for. I finished it off by lightly spraying some Aveeno Nourish + Shine Fortifying Hairspray. I love this hairspray when I curl my hair because it helps to hold the curl and still leaves it super soft. I cannot find the hairspray on their website but it is available on Amazon.com.

All in all, my curls looked great and they lasted the entire day. The wand was easy to use and well worth the majorly discounted price tag. I am very tempted to check out other NuMe products. Let me know in the comments what you think!
