TGIF!

I have to admit, I use the term TGIT way more than TGIF but ehh technicalities.

Speaking of, did you guys see Grey's/Scandal/HTGAWM last night?! If you didn't, don't follow me on Twitter because I live tweet every week.

Did you like that? A little reverse psychology to follow me on other social media platforms?

*Cough Cough* @natashakirkland *Cough Cough*

Anyways!

On this day, some friends and I went to the Ithaca Commons for some dinner. It was a fairly warm day for fall so this outfit was perfect for the weather. In Central New York, we really do not get many nice fall days, we pretty much skip right to winter, so I try to take advantage of the few days we get!

I love contrasting unexpected pieces in an outfit so I paired a flannel with my new favorite leather jacket. I added a black floppy hat for some flair and warm socks to keep a cozy vibe. Balance is key to pulling off a contrasting outfit. The leather jacket and hat dress up the look while the socks and flannel keep it casual.

Who doesn't love a good burrito? There's a great Mexican restaurant on the Commons called Viva and they have huge burritos and amazing guac. I actually dislike avocado and guacamole but their's had different spices and was even delicious to a harsh guac critic. Be sure to check it out and let me know in the comments below what your favorite Mexican dishes are!

Have a lovely weekend, darlings!

Nat

Taxi Trend: Boyfriend Jeans

Happy Monday, y'all!

I'm back with a quick post showing you guys four ways I styled these American Eagle jeans.

When I was on the hunt for the perfect pair of ripped boyfriend jeans, one of the first places I looked was American Eagle. The quality of their jeans is always great and I can actually find a pair that fits me. For a 5'2" girl with big dancer thighs and a booty, finding a pair of jeans that fit me well is basically a Christmas miracle and American Eagle is pretty much Santa Claus.

First up is a bit of casual with an edge. I absolutely love the combination of heels and boyfriend jeans. I dressed the look down by adding my Beyonce sweatshirt and wore my hair in a top knot to keep a casual vibe.

For this next look, I dressed these jeans up a bit. I tucked in a loose button down from H&M and added another pair of Just Fab heels. One of my favorite things to do is pair a casual piece with a dressier piece to add contrast to the outfit.

This look is basically casual on the bottom, dressy on the top. I added a statement necklace from Rocksbox to a graphic tee and threw on a cardigan for warmth. For comfort, I wore my favorite white converses.

Finally, this look was the first outfit that came into my mind as soon as I bought these jeans. I love love love wearing the color blush in the cooler seasons and this cropped sweater from Tobi is perfection. I especially love blush with nude so I wore these nude heels from Sole Society. To add just a little bit of pattern, I added a cheetah print belt.

Two things:
1. I obviously love looking down in my photos. (Sorry not sorry.)
2. If you haven't noticed in three out of the four looks, I added dark lipstick. Dark lips are definitely in my top 3 favorite things about fall. If you'd like to see a post with my favorite fall lip colors, let me know in the comments below! Hope everyone has a great week!

Raise your hand if you love a good leather jacket!

I decided to invest in a new one this fall and I'm obsessed with this one from Zara. The ribbed shoulders are my favorite detail in this simple, yet statement piece. It is the perfect amount of hardware, texture, and bad-ass vibes. Leather jackets instantly add attitude to any look.

To add a bit of contrast, I wore these printed pants from Banana Republic. They are fairly light so they are great for early fall when the temperatures are still moderately warm. And not to mention super comfortable.

With the statement jacket and printed pants, I kept the rest of the outfit neutral with a plain black crop top and booties.

My best friend Shelby visited from Florida this past week and stayed in Sylvan Beach.
Though it was definitely in its off-season, the lake view was still gorgeous as ever.

The abandoned amusement park however, felt a bit like Dismaland.

Which was pretty effing sweet.

Be sure to stop by Sylvan Beach if you're ever in the area. It's great for pictures, to take in the sights...

...and a perfect place to play with some leaves.

Two things I am obsessed with this fall: pairing camel and black, and blanket shawls.

Luckily for me, this poncho from H&M makes it easy to accomplish both!

Can I just say how thrilled I am that I can wear a blanket outside of my house and it is not only socially acceptable, but also on trend?

Whoever came up with this and the messy top knot is my hero.

Underneath this cozy piece, I wore a black button down blouse slightly tucked into a pair of leather leggings.

To keep with the black leather theme, I added my Lucky Brand booties and Henri Bendel satchel.

On the day of this shoot, it was a crisp, fall day in New York. My mom and I took a day trip to explore and stimulate the economy.

And of course we couldn't leave without picking up some of my favorite treats! Macaron Cafe is located on 36th between Broadway and 7th and their Nutella macaron is to die for!

What is your favorite thing to do in New York City? Let me know in the comments below!

It's time to ditch the flip flops and say hello to my favorite season for fashion, autumn!

I am loving this top from PacSun. It is the perfect transition top from summer to fall. The off the shoulder cropped tops were very trendy this summer, while its maroon color and lace details hint at the upcoming autumn season.

I paired this top with simple skinny jeans and peep-toe heels from Just Fab.

I love the boho vibe the fringe heels add to this look.

I tied into the beige color of the shoes with my nude crossbody from Coach.

My best friend/photographer Annie and I took these photos after having a super delicious lunch at Pumpkin Hill Bistro in Aurora, New York.

I know I have mentioned them on here before but I just keep coming back for more! Lunch with your best friend and a beautiful view is the best kind of lunch, let me tell you.

Until next time!

Nat
