Hello, my lovely bloggers! Long time no talk so I figured I'd give y'all an update.

On June 28th, I turned the lovely age of 22. And like any Taylor Swift super-fan, I went to a karaoke bar and sang "22."

(Let's not judge the dance moves.)

I then proceeded to only use lyrics from that song for all of my Instagrams that day. No shame. No shame at all.

As far as my outfits went, it seemed that white was the theme of the birthday extravaganza, which was completely accidental. I just love the way white looks on a tan.

I first bought this high-waisted skirt from Marshalls because it reminded me of a For Love and Lemons skirt. You know I love me some neutrals so I fell in love with the white crochet over the nude. It was a perfect fit and a steal at about $15.

After I bought the skirt, I wanted to stay with the neutral theme so I was on the hunt for the perfect dressy white crop top. I found this one on Windsorstore.com. It has a lace trim and cutouts on the side. Sometimes cutouts can be in an unflattering area and hug you in the wrong places but these are in the perfect spot. Though, I could not really wear a bra with it due to the cutouts. However, the top was supportive enough and I have a small enough chest that it didn't matter. Yay for the Itty Bitty Titty Committee!

I finished it off with simple gold accessories and nude strappy sandals from Steve Madden.

My goal was to basically look like a bohemian princess on Sunday... how did I do? I first found this romper on Meghan Rienks' Instagram so I hunted it down and bought it from Tobi.com. Tobi has excellent customer service that I cannot praise enough, which I will explain further in a later post with yet another romper I bought from their website.

I found this white lace kaftan from H&M as part of their Coachella collection and I am obsessed. You can wear it with a dress or H&M's website showed it paired with a casual tank and denim shorts. No matter what you pair it with, this piece gives any outfit a bohemian flair. P.S. it is currently 50% off so run, go, get it!

As far as accessories, I found this gold leaf headband I used as my "birthday crown" from Windsor as well. This was also thanks to Meghan Rienks because Meghan Rienks is a perfect hippie angel. (Her YouTube channel can be found here.) I wore the Steve Madden sandals from the night before to stay neutral and added some gold necklaces.

I had a lovely birthday, especially thanks to my best friend Macy (the photographer behind most of these photos) who helped make my New York City birthday weekend happen.

That's it for now! Until next time!

Xo,
Nat

What would I do without the clearance section at Macy’s?

Remember that $15 jumpsuit from Free People? Well, this skirt ALSO retails for over $100 and I bought it ALSO for $15. Can you say score? I basically bought my entire spring wardrobe in one shopping trip.

This skirt is split and longer on the sides so I obviously knotted it like I do with everything. (#shortgirlproblems) Knots on dresses and skirts add a casual vibe to the look and with my oversized hat, this outfit didn’t need any dressing up.

I wanted all of the attention to be on the pattern of the skirt so I paired it with a white crop tank, beige cardigan, and beige oxfords. I love mixing neutral colors and they all drew into the skirt perfectly.

You know, you can wear these large hats other than while tanning at the pool. On this day, my school was holding outdoor events and this hat was perfect protection from the sun. But still, do not forget the sunscreen!

Because this skirt gave the outfit a boho feel, I wore basically all of the bracelets that I own, rings and midi rings, and layered necklaces. Boho equals jewelry overload to me, I don’t know.

Question time! What is the best deal you’ve ever gotten while shopping? Let me know in the comments below!

My favorite part about this overall trend is that I don’t have to buy any because my mom has millions of pairs back from when they were cool the first time. Gotta love those reoccurring trends, am I right, ladies?

I put the loose overalls over a striped shirt and paired it with white Converse.  These shoes have become a staple of mine. They look so spring but can also transition looks into the fall.

On this day, my best friend and I grabbed a quick lunch at this adorable restaurant called Dorie’s in Aurora, NY. They have great sandwiches and even BETTER milkshakes. Check it out if you’re ever in the area!

Until next time!

Holy crap, I’m a college graduate!

On May 16th, I listened as the Provost of my college announced my name, and I knew it was my turn. Don’t fall, Natasha, don’t fall... was all I could think as I excitedly glided across the stage to meet the president of my college, shake his hand, and receive my diploma.

Oh my gosh, I’m done! I did it! After four short years, I received my bachelors in Business and Entrepreneurship from Wells College. I am still in shock that I will not be returning to Wells but I would not trade my time there for the world. Wells helped me expand my mind, educated me on feminism, a subject I have become incredibly passionate about, and gave me connections and friendships that will last a lifetime. For that, I am eternally grateful for that tiny, tiny school.

On the very last day of Finals Week, I had my Senior Thesis presentation; the very last thing that stood in my way.

Then, after reluctantly going first, and the twenty minute presentation later, I WAS DONE! Which meant:

Leading up to graduation, Seniors had a week of events. This included an American themed dance, bar hopping in Ithaca, a trip to the Turning Stone Casino, (where I gambled for the first time ever on a super risky penny slot) and a Semi Formal dance. They also opened our brand new, on-campus pub! (It’s a big deal, okay?)

Follow me on Snapchat for more fun videos of me singing and eating things. (@natashakirkland)

My best friend Annie and I also toured MacKenzie-Childs since it’s located right in our college town of Aurora, NY. (Yes, we found a place to take a mirror selfie, of course.) Let me tell you, that place is mesmerizing, and you’ll leave wanting to fill your entire house with Courtly Check everything. (Socks count too, okay?)

I decided to dress up a romper for Semi Formal because I wanted to do something a bit different than just another dress. The low, lacy back is my favorite part of this romper, which is why I put my hair in a slick, low pony tail. I found this lip color in the back of my lipstick drawer and I cannot believe I have never used it before. This dark, wine color tied together my dramatic eye makeup and slicked back hair. The best part? I’m pretty certain I received this as a free birthday gift from Sephora. Holla!

The day before graduation, Pitch Perfect 2 came out and some of the girls from my a cappella group and I went to see it. If you didn’t know, I was a member of an all-female a cappella group called the Whirligigs at Wells since I was a freshman, and director of the group for the past two and a half years. So, needless to say, we take Pitch Perfect very seriously. The sequel hit WAY too close to home with them being seniors. …Of course, I didn’t cry, who told you that?

All week, I was checking the weather; hoping and praying that it did not rain on graduation morning. Thankfully, we had a warm, spring morning. A bit cloudy, but hey, it did not rain so I will not complain. The traditional stage coach ride on the morning before the ceremony was just lovely and gave me all of the Cinderella feels.

My parents, grandparents, and best friends all were my personal photographers for the day. Collectively, they probably took over 1000 photos of me the entire morning; is this how Kim Kardashian feels?

I was even hooded by a Whirligig alum!

Graduating High School or College is a huge accomplishment for anyone. Those 8am classes, those midnight cram sessions when you decided that Netflix was a better use of your day; all those years of hard work finally pays off when they announce your name and you walk across that stage to receive your diploma. But, do not forget to thank your family and friends, without who I know I couldn't have done it. Graduates of 2015, you should be incredibly proud of yourselves. Congratulations!

It's a dress! It's a skirt! No! It's a jumpsuit!

I don't think I have ever worn an outfit and received so many compliments in a day before. And the best part? This Free People jumpsuit retails for $178 and I bought it for just $14.99.

Holla!

(Always check the clearance sections, people, always.)

I can't decide which is my favorite part of this jumpsuit; the strappy details in the top, or the flow of the bottom. This jumpsuit is so airy that it looks and feels like a dress... without the chub rub a maxi has, am I right, ladies?

Anyways, I paired this easy, breezy, perfection with strappy sandal wedges and my Speedy. I'm a bit on the short side (5'2") so with pieces like this, I often need a little bit of height assistance. Because I couldn't hem this piece easily, I took a little creative license and tied each leg to the side in a little knot. I often like to do this with dresses and flowing pieces like this and it sort of looks like the knots were there purposefully. Sweet, right?

I post many of my outfits on Instagram before I get to make a blog post so be sure to follow me! @natashakirkland

Hope you all have a lovely week!

Happy spring, everyone!

It is finally becoming bearable outside which means open-toe shoes such as these great heels from Just Fab! These taupe heels are a great way to dress up an otherwise casual look or add a boho vibe to a dress or skirt. Plus, the neutral color goes with anything and everything.

Here, I paired the shoes with cuffed jeans from Macy's and a top from H&M that I managed to forget about in my closet. Don't repeat my mistakes, clean out your closet, people!

I have love, love, LOVED wearing multiple, dainty necklaces lately. My favorite one is the circle one. It was actually a ring my grandmother gave me when I was born so my mother turned it into a necklace and gave it to me for Christmas this past year. I love its simplicity but also its sentimental value.

Have I mentioned how much I love this bag? It's an investment, most definitely, but in my opinion, worth every penny. It's durable, so versatile, and very roomy. My only suggestion is if you don't want it to sag a little, place a piece of cardboard at the bottom of the bag to maintain the shape. Be sure to round the corners a bit so they don't poke the leather.

I have to admit that as I write this blog post, I am closing up season four of Sex and the City; and my only question is...

WHY HAVE I NEVER SEEN THIS SHOW BEFORE?!

I love how I can see a little bit of myself in each character. I like to think I have the fashion sense of Carrie, the innocence of Charlotte, the confidence of Samantha, and the intelligence of Miranda. Each woman has her own very admirable characteristics and I aspire to surround myself with strong women like the core four.

So, who are you? A Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha, or Miranda?
